Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup 1 stick unsalted butter, melted and cooled
- 2/3 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup finely chopped hazelnuts
- 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
Instructions:
Beat the melted butter and powdered sugar together thoroughly in a mixing bowl
To the butter mixture, add the eggs and vanilla extract, and whisk until smooth
Sift the flour, baking powder, cocoa powder, and salt in a different bowl
Stirring until just combined, gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients
Stir in the semisweet chocolate chips and chopped hazelnuts, making sure to mix them into the batter thoroughly
Once the batter is firm, cover the bowl with plastic wrap and place it in the refrigerator for at least one hour
Set the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit 175 degrees Celsius and use nonstick cooking spray or butter to coat a madeleine pan
Pour the cold batter into each of the madeleine molds, filling them to about 3/4 of the way
The madeleines should be baked for 10 to 12 minutes, or until they are set and slightly springy to the touch, in a preheated oven
Take the madeleines out of the oven and let them cool in the pan for a few minutes before moving them to a wire rack to cool down fully
With a cup of coffee or tea, serve the Chocolate Hazelnut Madeleines as a delightful treat
